Biking Wallkill Valley Rail Trail
This morning we rented bikes from New Paltz Biking and took a 16.2 miles round-trip ride on the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. It was a wonderful ride and the Trellis Bridge 160 feet above the Hudson River provided immense views. We turned around at the Ice Caves that felt like you were standing in front of a giant air conditioner.

Ready to watch Dune, again!
Dune is perhaps my favorite sci-fi world. I read all six of Frank Herbert’s books in one summer and loved them. I saw Lynch’s 1984 version of the movie and watched it at least a dozen times on Laserdisc. I saw the Sci-Fi channel mini-series from 2000. I’m eager to watch the new 2021 movie.
Recent NFT Activity
This block of updates from today’s Modern Finance newsletter on recent activity around NFTs blew me away.
Here are some fun NFT stats from the last few days:
- @artblocks_io has done 5,570E ($13M) in the last 24hrs, up 401%, primarily driven by @tylerxhobbs Fidenza project
- Two CryptoPunk zombies purchased for 700 & 850 ETH ($1.72M & $2.09M). The next available zombie is 1.23KE or $3.71M. There are only 88 zombies in total
- Gary Vee buys rare CryptoPunk Ape for 1,600 ETH ($3,764,576.17 USD), this triggers a CryptoPunk buying frenzy
- I picked up a badass a 1/1 XCOPY (🏆 grail for me)
I continue to see a lot of potential for NFTs, well beyond just the collectible space. However, it seems that the collectibles are a huge deal on their own.

We are on a road trip and are playing Road Sign Math! Today we found a winner outside of Wurtsboro!
Tyler created a cairn of his own at the site of the Woodstock stage. He even added a little flower to it.`
The original site for Woodstock is just a little bit down the road from the historical marker. The original stage location has several cairns and peace symbols. It was cool to stand in that spot and look towards the hill and imagine 500,000 people! ✌️☮️

While we were visiting the Woodstock site today we took the restored Bindy Bazaar Trail through the trees. I loved Carol Hummel’s crocheted shapes wrapping by trees.
