Movies
Quick reactions to films we’ve watched as a family—ranging from the bonkers fun of Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning to indie darlings, animated favorites and rewatching Into the Wild with my daughter. I note what resonated (or didn’t) and who joined us.
Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile was a really silly movie but a fun family time nonetheless. 🍿
Ticket to Paradise
Tammy and I went to Ticket to Paradise at the newly renovated Edina Theatre today. It was a funny movie, enjoyable, and very predictable. Pretty much exactly what you would expect, which is great if that is what you are looking for. We enjoyed it. 🍿
First family movie night in new house. I finally got the family room setup. We watched Enola Holmes 2. Good sequel and looking forward to more. 🍿
Turning Red was a good afternoon movie on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. I liked the depth of the story, and that the plot is primarily driven through the women in the story. 🍿
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was a really fun movie. The Nicholas Cage playing himself the movie constantly fluxes in this meta between the movie and the story of the movie. It reminded me a little of Being John Malkovich. 🍿
Enjoyed Ron’s Gone Wrong tonight. It was a super fun movie, with a good story, and a good criticism of social apps and kids. Plus Ron was an awesome character. 🍿
Movie tonight was Free Guy and it was pretty fun! The various riffs on gamer culture were all really funny. Tammy’s pick. 🍿
Totally enjoyed In The Heights tonight. Great movie and incredible performances. Wow. My movie pick. 🍿
Mazie picked Stargirl for us to watch tonight. It was a great story, well told, and touching. Great family movie. 🍿
We went to see Dune tonight (opening night!) at Living Room Theaters here in Indianapolis. I loved it and it made me want to re-read the books again. The story came to life with wonderful depth and you really felt like you were in Arrakis.🍿
