I gave the “Always On Display” feature of the iPhone 14 Pro several weeks to get used to, but have finally turned it off. When the display is on it catches my attention every time I see it. It leaves me wondering if there is something I need to check. No good.

iPhone Upgrade “Waterfall” today. New iPhone 14 Pro for Tammy and I, and our old phones heading to the kids who will finally be out of the dark ages with their devices. Thankful that migration tools are so much better these days!

Since upgrading to macOS Ventura I can no longer launch Safari using LaunchBar. I’m constantly launching the wrong thing. I don’t get why LaunchBar wont index Safari. Works same as always for every other app. 😬

The Duplicates and Merging feature in the latest version of Photos 8.0 is really nice. I’ve wanted a utility to do this for years and so far it works exactly how I would want it to.

The new window manager that Apple announced at WWDC today, Stage Manager, looks interesting. I like how the experience works on a variety of display sizes. It makes me chuckle that we’ve had GUIs for 30 years and we are still figuring out window managers. 🤓

I updated all of our iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, Macs, and Apple Watches. All went smooth except an old iPad Pro that my son uses. It refused to run the updater. Finally remembered I could plug it into my Mac and have the computer update it. 👍

Now that Apple has Shortcuts working on all platforms, I would like to renew my wish list item of having my Mail.app signature be a Shortcut so that I can have fun with dynamic signatures. 🤓

Just upgraded my first machine to macOS Monterey. Very smooth. Took about an hour. I’m giddy to see Shortcuts on my Mac now! Going to be playing around for a while now.

The extent to which Shortcuts on iOS 15 is broken is shocking. Any moderately complex shortcut will randomly fail from one execution to another, with multiple different error conditions. It is unusable in current form.
