Hello there! πŸ‘‹ Congratulations on receiving a claim code for Jamie’s 50th Birthday Token. This page is to help you with the process of claiming it. This is all just a fun thing. There are no costs to claiming the token.

Step 1: You need an Ethereum Wallet

If you already have an Ethereum wallet just get your wallet address and move on to Step 2.

If you need an Ethereum wallet and use Chrome, I suggest installing MetaMask.

If you use an iOS device, the easiest (and most fun) wallet is Rainbow.

If neither of those work for you, a quick search for Ethereum wallet should find multiple options for your device preference. You cannot use a crypto exchange address.

Once you have installed a wallet and done the setup process you will have a wallet address. They look like big chunks of numbers. Copy it. Don’t attempt to write it down. For example, my primary address is 0x2BdA946a7740b1dDB0fd5C226819170c4DD15720.

Step 2: Mint your POAP

Now that you have an address the rest is really easy. Make sure you have your address copied and go to the claim URL I shared with you and paste that address in. This will begin the minting of your POAP. At this point, you’re done!

The claim URL will look like http://POAP.xyz/claim/abc123, but the last 6 characters are unique to just you.

You have until the end of January to claim the token!

Step 3: Verify you have the POAP

You may want to know that you have the POAP. To do that you can go to the POAP scanner and put your address in and it will show you all your POAPs. This is public so you can see anyones wallet. Check out my POAP collection if you are curious.

At this point you may also want to install the POAP app, and give it your address and you can have this on your phone. It is available for iOS on the App Store as well as Android on Google Play.

FAQ

Is the POAP image stored for archival?

Yes, it is stored on IPFS with CID QmVJuzRHJiRyws6hhocSyqQpdmoKLoVd1j7SCBsD4HHrbp. Any IPFS bridge can retrieve it.

I don’t see the POAP in my Ethereum wallet, why?

So this gets a bit complicated. To keep POAPs free they are actually minted on the xDai Blockchain. xDai is very power efficient and has extremely low costs. If you want it in your Ethereum wallet you can in the future migrate the POAP token to Ethereum for a small gas fee. But, there is no need to do that. xDai is connected to Ethereum and is just fine.
