Tyler and I after our team won today’s Edina Soccer match. I’ve been having a great time coaching the boys. They’ve won all four of their first games. ⚽️🤩

Day 6 of the February Photoblogging Challenge: Sport.

Wasn’t a lot of “sport” options today but Tyler likes to wear Bayern gear nearly everyday. ⚽️

We take Lucky on a walk nearly every day and usually go through Pamela Park for a 1.2 to 1.6 mile loop. With the pandemic the ice rink and ponds have been very busy with lots of skaters. It makes the walk more fun to see people out and having fun. ⛸🏒

FC Bayern Münich celebrating their Champions League title! Great game! Nueur: “A human brick wall.” 21 consecutive wins. ⚽️🏆🇩🇪 Tyler was in full Bayern kit for the game.

Grateful to get to watch live Bundesliga with Bayern v Frankfurt today. It is very strange though with the stands completely empty. ⚽️

55m: Yikes, two goals in quick succession from Frankfurt bring it to 3-2 with Bayern leading by just one!

Final: Bayern prevailed winning 5-2! 🙌

Super excited to be watching live Bundesliga play with Union Berlin v Bayern! While there are no fans in the stadium, it turns out I can yell at the TV just as loud as ever when VAR calls back a Bayern goal! It was awesome to see Bayern take the win 2-0. We enjoyed some takeout cheeseburgers from Tap Society too! ⚽️

I am so excited to hear that Bundesliga is resuming the season! Tyler and I will be cheering for Bayern on May 17th! ⚽️

Day Game at Target Field, simply great!

The Gang at the Saints Game! ⚾️

Last Wednesday night Jim and I decided to go see a Mets game while in NY for business. We took a long train ride on the 7 out to Shea Stadium and picked up some tickets. We got some absolutely great tickets off of the 3rd base side. This was my second time at Shea, and oddly both times they were playing Atlanta. It was a lot of fun to see the game with Jim who knows more about baseball than I could ever know. He filled me in on some great trivia about the Mets that made me enjoy the game even more.

It was a great night. The game was awesome, with the Mets holding off the Braves for the win. The Mets fans are simply the best. These people express every range of human emotion, amplified to 11, through the course of a single game. Top it off with a wonderful evening outside, even though it was hotter and more humid than any of us would have liked. Baseball is meant to be played in that type of venue. As Jim said, “we could be watching a herd of goats grazing and it would still be great”. You bet! It will be great when the Twins get their new stadium.

Now I just have to figure out how to get to a Yankees game!
