I’ve been exploring and engaging in agentic software deeply for a couple of months now with a number of my own projects to learn with. Thus far, nearly all of what I’ve done has been driven by me often with an LLM assisting in the framing of the thing I’m looking to build. I …
Keep reading · 2 minutes: Elixir's Agentic Product TeamMy Claude Code + Codex 30-day token usage versus my subscription cost looks good. Just about 2B tokens. I suspect this is going to go up even more as I’m venturing into autonomous coding agents.
Just told Claude Code “you have broad approval to do whatever is needed to execute this effort” and then made me double-take about “super intelligence” risks. 😅
We’ll see how this goes…
I asked Codex to watch one of my agents, Elixir, and using suggestions from Elixir and its own observations automatically modify Elixir as needed with a GitHub Issue as a tracker.
I’ll be curious to see what they do together.
With some trepidation I’m taking my third try with Obsidian. This time with the promise of using it in collaboration with various agents. We’ll see how this works. Obsidian being primarily used by Agents may actually be a worthwhile path.
I’m asking Fable 5 to look at some of the projects I’ve been working on and so far I’m very impressed with the level of analysis and recommendations it can make. Opus (via Claude Code) and GPT 5.5 (via Codex) were not able to see the structural issues in the code that Fable can.
I rebuilt Thingy into the archive agent I always wanted. Thingy started a month ago as an agent that acted as a librarian in front of the Weekly Thing archive. It did a great job at that and even if nobody else used it I found it super helpful to explore the archive. However, I …
Keep reading · 3 minutes: Thingy EvolvedA pattern I’ve adopted when I’m heavily engaged with Claude Code or Codex is to have an open text file where I’m keeping the “next prompts” that I’m considering. While the agent is working I’m continuing to refine these so we are ready to move to the next feature or task.
From a chat with Claude today…
“everything else is scope creep dressed as ambition”
Statistical word model or not, that was an insightful comment.
I’ve been publishing the Weekly Thing for nine years and automation is one of the things that has made that possible. I shared a while back how I find content, assemble the issues, and my project structure. Without these well defined workflows there is no way I could continue …
