I’ve had Claude working on a new project and since I have the tokens I’ve used Fable 5.0 for nearly all of it. It has done an incredibly good job with a very complex system.
Software Development
I had an idea to “flip” Elixir, the Clash Royale agent I created, upside-down and open up MCP use — Elixir MCP! Every single part of this I’ve created in other solutions. Claude (Fable 5.0) and I spec’d it out and I put Claude Code in a /loop and six hours later we had a working system.
Elixir’s Agentic Product Team
I’ve been exploring and engaging in agentic software deeply for a couple of months now with a number of my own projects to learn with. Thus far, nearly all of what I’ve done has been driven by me often with an LLM assisting in the framing of the thing I’m looking to build. I …
Keep reading · 2 minutes: Elixir's Agentic Product TeamMy Claude Code + Codex 30-day token usage versus my subscription cost looks good. Just about 2B tokens. I suspect this is going to go up even more as I’m venturing into autonomous coding agents.
We’ll see how this goes…
I asked Codex to watch one of my agents, Elixir, and using suggestions from Elixir and its own observations automatically modify Elixir as needed with a GitHub Issue as a tracker.
I’ll be curious to see what they do together.
I’m asking Fable 5 to look at some of the projects I’ve been working on and so far I’m very impressed with the level of analysis and recommendations it can make. Opus (via Claude Code) and GPT 5.5 (via Codex) were not able to see the structural issues in the code that Fable can.
Thingy Evolved
I rebuilt Thingy into the archive agent I always wanted. Thingy started a month ago as an agent that acted as a librarian in front of the Weekly Thing archive. It did a great job at that and even if nobody else used it I found it super helpful to explore the archive. However, I …
Keep reading · 3 minutes: Thingy EvolvedA pattern I’ve adopted when I’m heavily engaged with Claude Code or Codex is to have an open text file where I’m keeping the “next prompts” that I’m considering. While the agent is working I’m continuing to refine these so we are ready to move to the next feature or task.
Massive Weekly Thing Website Build
I’ve commented that agentic coding makes things that were previously on your “list of impossible projects” into things that you can do. I have long had on my “impossible project” list the desire to create a website for the Weekly Thing that let the archive shine in ways that I …

In 2018 I wrote about Your Version Number: I think the version metaphor works. You are a different person in your 20s, 30s, 40s and so on. Your life changes in meaningful ways! MAJOR version! Each year we tend to think of new things and new goals, but we don’t break backwards …
