Manton Reece @manton shared he’s pausing blogging on AI because of pushback he receives on his writing. I can empathize based on comments I’ve received about crypto. In 2022 I wrote on polarizing technology. AI is likely to be similar to Encryption and Crypto and I’m going to continue exploring.
AI
I’ve been using ChatGPT so much that I hit the limits on my Plus account. I’ve been getting so much value out of it I made the jump to ChatGPT Pro. I’m curious to explore some of the advanced features further. 🧠
I’m wondering what MCP endpoints I would like to have:
- My blog
- Weekly Thing
- OmniFocus, that could be amazing
- Manuals for stuff I own
- My media library
- My photo library
- My house, or whatever that would mean
How cool that the S3 Files app added a local MCP server so you can expose any S3 bucket of files to Claude or Cursor for local use.
I’ve been a bit obsessed thinking about AI agents and this definition shared by Willison from Anthropic’s Hannah Moran works for me.
Agents are models using tools in a loop.

- Personal computers
- The web
- Napster
- AI

- GUI
- Internet
- Cloud
- Mobile
I think of those because they changed nearly everything about how technologists do their craft. I believe AI is going to do that too.
Was fun to share the stage with Melissa Flicek and Jenn Zmuda at the final session of MnTech Tech Connect 2025 during the CIO & CTO Panel. Many topics around AI adoption and leading digital transformations.
The LLM functions I’ve built for the Weekly Thing have worked really well. So well in fact that I’m redoing my Shortcuts to move from simple calls to the ChatGPT app to using the OpenAI API directly. This has the added benefit of additional fine tuning including optimized system messages. 👨💻

I attended a public lecture hosted by Anselm House on Are We Merely Machines? tonight featuring Rosalind W. Picard of the MIT Media Lab. It was an interesting talk covering materialism, scientism, and ontology. Picard’s view is that we are not, and that we should not, attempt to …
