I just completed all the blog posts for our Milwaukee Spring Break trip. This is the most complete job I’ve done using daily logs (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), posts for most events, and a collection page linking to all posts as well as an index of all restaurants and attractions we visited.

We made a last minute final stop at the Milwaukee Domes before we left town. The tropical and desert domes were relaxing and pretty to experience.

Milwaukee Spring Break: Day 4

Jamie has morning coffee at Discourse Coffee and today Mazie joined as well.
Brunch at Uncle Wolfie’s Breakfast Tavern. Mazie and Jamie have Ube.
Visit Harley-Davidson Museum.
Attempted to visit Milwaukee Domes but they were closed.
Explore Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward.
Saw Call Me Dancer at Oriental Theatre.
Escaped “Invasion” room at 60 to Escape.
Drop off car at hotel.
Walk to San Giorgio Pizzeria for delicious pizza.

This is as close as we were able to get to the domes — closed on Tuesdays.

We had a great time escaping the “Invasion” room at 60 to Escape! The room was fun, surprising, and appropriately challenging. One of the best rooms we’ve done! Finished with 5m 37s remaining. Room 55!

We saw Call Me Dancer at the Oriental Theatre while in Milwaukee. The movie told the story of Manish and his passion to become a professional dancer against many odds.

Harley-Davidson Museum

We visited the Harley-Davidson Museum while in Milwaukee. None of us are huge motorcycle fans but it was still fun to see the history and progression of all the bikes over the years.

While waiting for our table at Uncle Wolfie’s Mazie found these stairs and got some exercise. Then Tyler caught wind and a race was required.

Milwaukee Spring Break: Day 3

Jamie has morning coffee at Discourse Coffee.
Brunch at Blue’s Egg.
Milwaukee Zoo. Rainy and pretty quiet.
Big Putt’s Mini Golf — very well done course with a lot of fun holes. Jamie got four “hole in ones”.
Attempted to see Call Me Dancer at the Oriental Theatre but the theater was closed. 😫
Milwaukee Public Market for choose your own dinner: Freese’s Candy Shoppe, Foltz Family Market, C. Adam’s Bakery, and West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shoppe. Olive Oil for home from Oro Di Oliva.
Battle House Laser Combat. Tyler and Jamie were on Blue Team with more players and won most of the games.

All of us were very sad that the Oriental Theatre water and heat were out of order.

We wrapped the day with 2 hours of tactical laser tag at Battle House Laser Combat tonight. We were split up on different teams. Tammy was excited to get into battle!

It was cool and rainy so a trip to Big Putts Mini Golf was perfect. We arrived and the place was packed, but after the first few holes things moved along well. We loved the course — declared it probably our favorite mini golf ever. And I crushed it with a 35 along with four hole-in-ones! ⛳️🔥

Amazing time at Milwaukee Art Museum.
Tyler did amazing job flying at Extreme Flight Simulation.
Tammy and Jamie see Brett Goldstein at the incredible Riverside Theater.
Dinner at Tupelo Honey.
Duckpin Bowling with manual pin setter at Koz’s Mini Bowl.

We went Duckpin Bowling tonight at Koz’s Mini Bowl. Koz’s has the oldest original Duck Pin bowling lanes with manual pin setters that sit behind the pins while you bowl.

Tammy won with 198, Mazie second at 194, Tyler third at 177, and I came in last at 140.

Tammy and I saw Brett Goldstein’s standup show “The Second Best Night of Your Life” at the Riverside Theater while in Milwaukee. Goldstein is best known for playing Roy Kent on Ted Lasso. Many good laughs and a great venue.

Tyler in Flight Simulator

While on Milwaukee Spring Break we took a short drive 40 miles south to Gurnee, Illinois to visit Extreme Flight Simulation. Tyler wanted to try a real flight simulator and EFS has a 737-800 simulator that you can do a “no experience” session with a co-pilot. Tyler had a blast. I was a little jealous that I didn’t get to fly it myself. Below are some videos of the experience.

There was a stack over two feet high of large sheets of paper in the Milwaukee Art Museum. They all had printed in very small print in the middle “VETERANS DAY SALE”. We brought one back figuring Mazie may want to do a drawing on it. In the meantime it became Tammy’s own movable art piece.

12:03p Lunch at Archie’s Flat Top in Milwaukee: Triple Cheeseburgers for Tyler and Dad. 4 oz patties. Triple patties were a mistake. Brilliant French fries.
Mazie and Dad had Scratch Ice Cream (Raspberry White Chocolate Chip, Door County Cherry).
Carrie’s Crispies for awesome unique Rice Krispie bars (Original, Pretzel White Chocolate, Peanut Butter Cup, S’mores).
Milwaukee Public Museum. Particularly enjoyed Old Streets of Milwaukee.
Checked in at Saint Kate Art Hotel.
Dinner at SafeHouse.
Champagne and shopping in hotel lobby.

First museum stop was the Milwaukee Public Museum. We had a fun time exploring the European Village, Butterfly Wing, Streets of Old Milwaukee, Third Planet, Rainforest, North America, and much more.

Tammy loves Rice Krispie bars so when we passed Carrie’s Crispies we had to stop! We tried Original, Pretzel White Chocolate, Peanut Butter Cup, and S’mores. They were all fabulous!

After arriving in Milwaukee it was time for lunch at Archie’s Flat Top. We are always game for a great cheeseburger. Tyler and I opted for a triple not realizing that they were 4 oz patties. The three pancake size patties were all I could handle! 🍔
