The Mac Pro is a sweet machine, I got mine a month ago (2.66GHz/250GB HD/5GB RAM/standard graphics/no bluetooth or wireless). I can't believe how quiet it is and a lot of work has been put into the design - gotta love the easy-open side panel, those slide-in HD bays and memory risers.

I'm a Windoze switcher. The time came for a new computer and Vista left me cold. I wanted out of the M$ rat race. I thought about an iMac but wanted expansion options so the MP got the nod. Can't believe how fast this sucker is! Apps open in single-digit seconds.

Picked up Lightroom yesterday, that's how I found your blog (am puzzling about keywords). Now that CS3 is out my next few purchases are Dreamweaver, InDesign, Photoshop and three more hard drives to fill up those empty bays!

I also bought an Eizo 19" LCD monitor for photo work but am thinking about an Apple 30" as well. The extra screen real estate would be nice (but the $3000 price tag here in Australia isn't!)

Nice blog Jamie, am having fun checking it out.

I am getting ready to go to the Laptop Mac. Pretty sure I will use parallels to run my windows apps so I don't need to reboot. Have a friend testing it out now. My main issue is going to be keeping my desktop and laptop synced. Might as well chuck the mobile phone, ipods and every thing else in. I figure you and I both need a solution and since you have the kit you're just the guy to do it!! What's the plan???? When's project iSyncedMyLifeAcrossMultiDevices kickoff???

Jamie, interesting that you picked up another Mac and a Mac Pro no less. I don't know if you ran across the pricing, but the machine you get from Apple is around $1000 less than a similarly configured Dell. I found this amazing since you typically pay a premium for Macs (not as bad price wise as it used to be though). I agree with the software comment as I do find some software on the Windows side much better than what's available on the Mac side. Bootcamp is great as this is what I use on my MacBook and I don't have a complaint (can't wait for OS 10.5 aka Leopard and Bootcamp that isn't beta). It's nice to have the best of both worlds.
