Assembling Mazie’s Birthday Present

One of the cool features of my new Canon SD750 is a brain-dead simple way to do time-elapsed movies. I just had to play today while putting together Mazie’s birthday present. In case you are wondering, it isn’t Mazie’s birthday today. That’s a few weeks away but the present we got her had arrived and we decided to let her have it now. Fewer things on her actual birthday make it easier for her little 2 year old self.

Anyway — here in 48 seconds is Mazie and I putting together her new table and chairs. I love it.

Looks like you have a very good helper there.
Wow, Jamie you work a lot faster than Don!
that’s very cool ! Does it basically just skip frames so it’s recording every 2 seconds or so ?
Best Video Ever.
I love Izzy (?) flying through the background. And all the “help” from the birthday girl.
@Raanan, you are exactly right. The SD750 in Movie mode has a time-elapsed option. It has only one variable for speed. You can do a frame every 1-second, or 2 seconds. This one was recorded at 2-seconds. I really like the effect. I realize I could have done the same thing with my DV camera and a little magic in Final Cut Express, but that would have been orders of magnitude more work and never would have happened.
[...] picked up the same camera as Jamie. I was quite amused to discover the movie time lapse feature he demoed. I had to try it out [...]
I took a video in this time-elapse feature and didnt want to can you slow it down or watch it normal at all.
@mike,

No, there is no way to go back. The camera only captures a frame every second, it isn’t recording in between so there is nothing to slow down to.
